Formerly "To China For Kelly"

When I originally set up this blog, it was to chronicle our trip to China to adopt our daughter, Kelly; thus the title, "To China For Kelly." But now that I've decided to keep it up as my on-line scrapbook/journal, the title needs updating.
Inspired by my girls, who, despite their ten year age difference, both love lollipops and lip gloss; it is now titled, "From Lollipops to Lip Gloss." This is not to leave my son out, who also loves lollipops, but isn't too big on lip gloss, understandably!

Day Two

Good morning again from Hong Kong!

Thanks for the comments- how fun to know you all are checking and thinking of us! It feels sort of like you're with us. I love it!
Breakfast was pretty nice this morning, but our tour was cancelled. It is raining heavily with lightening and thunder- everything is such a mess, so no tour. We're sort of relieved.

We just had a family call us and invite us to walk down to the museum that's a few blocks from here with them, so I think we're going to join them. Here are a few pictures for you!

Tea at Starbucks in LAX

Here's Clint in our room... it's nice, bed is comfy (we slept great last night despite the time difference!), but the humidity is crazy... a/c is like a swamp cooler, everything is damp... my hair is not happy! Jen said I look like Monica on the Friends episode when they went to the Bahamas! LOLOLOL I can always count on my sissy for comic relief! But she's right!!!

See the rain on the window?

At the elevator, or "lift" as they call it here...

The breakfast was yummy- I had rice and noodles for breakfast! Welcome to Hong Kong!

Hi there Monica, oops I mean Jen! LOL! It is so exciting logging on and checking to see if there are any new posts! Thanks for being so good and letting all of us take this journey with you. Even though we are thousands of miles away, you make us feel that we are part of this wonderful experience. Take good care and know that we are thinking of you both. Clint looks as thrilled as Jack would look in pictures that I would take. I love it!

Love ya,

Deb

Jennifer, even with the humidty, you look fabulous. Noodles and Rice? yum yum. Stay away from the steamed seahorses! LOL! Wow that bed looks larger than a King. I have seen and heard of the California King. That must be a Chinese King! I am glad you slept well! Wishing you sweet sleep again tonight and hoping the rain stops so you guys get in more sightseeing. You can send that rain to Texas ~ 1o2 heat index here and as dry as poached and petrified dinosaur! Keep having a great time! Love seeing the pictures. I wasn't going to say anything about Clint but since the blomquist's mentioned him.... that must be the look of disappointment at hitting Starbucks 'fore they opened! Love the long sleeve sweatshirt and shorts. Ah, that's Clint. You can't help but love him! Hugs.

Hi Guys! Glad you made it okay, it's a lot of fun to see you via your pictures and posts, keep them coming. Don't forget on long flights (I forgot to tell you Clint before you left) to keep getting up at regular intervals to keep the blood flowing in your legs to prevent blood clots. Take care and keep us posted.
Love to both. Mom

Oh my gosh this is so awsome that we can see what is going on in China. Jeff and I have been saying the last 2 days " well I wonder what Jen and Clint are doing right now" I was counting down your hours for you when you were flying thinking oh my gosh they still have 10 hours to go.
Sounds like you two are having a great time and you are one step closer to Kelly every day.
Cant wait to read tomorrow. By the way Jen I LOVE your hair curly.

Take Care
Neighbor Kim

Have not seen your kids out but I can hear them in the back yard swimming.

Jen! I looked this morning to see if there was anything but did not see anything new. Then just now I sent the blog to Gloria and we were looking at it and talking about it and I FINALLY found where I can read what the others posted and I can write something! This blogging stuff is not my forte obviously. I have such a hard time figuring out how to do them! You would think I was computer illiterate! Anyway, as I am typing Gloria is on the phone with me and she is reading what YOU wrote! She may write something, too! I am so excited for you! You look so great! Both you and Clint, do! Did you have a lot of jet lag? I hope you are rested up when you get the baby. I JUST KNOW she is going to melt into your loving arms and she will have no trouble adjusting to the two of you! HUGS AROUND YOU ALL and our love and prayers are with you! Relish every moment! WHAT A WONDERFUL once in a lifetime experience!!! This morning we were sitting on the couch and Bill said, "Well, do you think they are there, yet?" I said I did not know HOW LONG it took but I was hoping you were. How long was your flight? We love you bunches! Anna and Bill

See, Jen, someome else LOVES your hair curly! You should show her my FAVORITE picture of you with your long surly hair...you know the one...at your house when you were here.
I guess I missed the part about the 14 1/2 hour flight! WOW! But I am sure it did not seem as long as you are going to get your baby!

We just logged on before going to bed and saw your new post! What a bummer that your touring was cancelled. I hope the museum was fun! We miss and love you so!

(The others are in bed)
PS. Anna - my hair actually does get surly sometimes, lol!
