Formerly "To China For Kelly"

When I originally set up this blog, it was to chronicle our trip to China to adopt our daughter, Kelly; thus the title, "To China For Kelly." But now that I've decided to keep it up as my on-line scrapbook/journal, the title needs updating.
Inspired by my girls, who, despite their ten year age difference, both love lollipops and lip gloss; it is now titled, "From Lollipops to Lip Gloss." This is not to leave my son out, who also loves lollipops, but isn't too big on lip gloss, understandably!

Different

Here we are in our hotel room, Skyping with Caleb and Camryn. Isn't the Internet wonderful?! It's been so nice to see them and talk to them each day. Jen is doing a fabulous job taking care of everyone at "Home Team China." Thanks, Sissy. You're the best!

When we were Skyping, I mentioned to Caleb and Camryn how different everything is here. Can you guess what this is?

... it's the blowdryer in our hotel bathroom!

These are some of the snacks our room came stocked with. The products are made by the same companies we buy them from, but the packaging is a little different.

Here's a snack aisle in the Seven-Eleven. I don't know what much of this is, but it's interesting to look at.

Okay, I just had to show you this last one too! This toilet is enormous. Every time I use it, I'm afraid I'm going to fall in!

Okay...if I had wet hair and was standing in front of the contraption on the wall...I would try to blow dry my hair.

Great pictures and educational comments too. Thank you for sharing!

That is one "Texas size" potty! Hang on to the sides! It made me think of what toilet training must feel like to a little one if you don't have the child insert! I recognized the cup of Ramen noodles, I think. The blow dryer could be mistaken for some kind of vacumn cleaner. lol. Thank you for making ya'lls experience come alive for us here back in the states. All of the photos are quite interesting and BTW, that periwinkle jacket is YOUR color, Jennifer! You look so pretty! Can't wait to see more pictures. Blessings and hugs!

Hi Jen!
Thanks for sharing all of the photos. I am glad the rain subsided some so you could tour Hong Kong. It looks like a very interesting place. The blow dryer picture kind of scared me--looks like you could get sucked up into that thing! LOL! Your Gotcha day is right around the corner. Have fun and take it all in! Oh, just because Clint was not smiling doesn't mean you had to take him out of all the pics! :) Our best to you all! We are off to watch our baby graduate from preschool! Boo-hoo!

Love ya,

Deb

I'm wondering if HK is trying to imply by the enormous toilet in a hotel for foreigners that all foreigners have huge butts? Or maybe it's NOT a huge toilet at all, and your butt is just very tiny? Yep, I think it's the latter.

Love You, You Little Tiny Butt

LOL Deb! After reading everyone's comments, he's been trying to smile or make more faces for the pictures... I'll have to post some so you guys can see! He thought that was funny about Jack being the same way!
Jen- YES, I like that theory that my butt is just too tiny for the toilet! I'm sure that's it!

Yeah I would say that is a little diffrent kind of living. Great pictures.
I know that living on a fisherman's boat and living in those appartments are normal over there, but that is alot to take in.
Most people go on vacation and gain weight. You two may come home and have lost weight with all the different food to eat.
Well the next two days will be a new beginning for the Kneip party of 5 The time is FINALLY here, can't get you guys out of our prayers and thoughts. ( I guess that is a good thing.)
This is getting fun every day waking up to see what is going on in CHINA.

Miss ya,
Kim

Hi Clint and Jen,

Just wanted you to know while you are gone things are pretty normal. Last night at 10p.m. I called your house to advise Jen's sister the garage door is open. Even with you in China, some things stay the same, lol. Hope you two are enjoying the experience. I look forward to seeing the new pics each day.

Take care, Jeff
